GHA Investment in Cooperative 'Produce in Imereti'
Overview
Building a Future with Community and Innovation
At GHA, we are driven by the vision of fostering community-driven agricultural innovation and sustainable growth in the Imereti region of Georgia. As an Investment Member since 2025, we are proud to partner with the Produce in Imereti Cooperative, promoting modern agricultural practices and empowering local farmers through strategic investments.
Our initiative represents the first privately initiated community engagement project aimed at developing a robust and resilient agricultural sector while preserving Georgia’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. By building strong partnerships with local farmers, community members, and stakeholders, we are paving the way to establish a cooperative model that aligns with EU standards and encourages inclusive economic development.
Our goal is to develop the "Produce in Imereti" brand as a hallmark of quality agricultural products and authentic hospitality services. This brand will encompass a wide range of primary and secondary produce, including fruits, jams, sauces, and other local products, while also promoting Georgian cultural heritage and authentic hospitality to visitors and tourists. Through this initiative, we invite businesses, farmers, professionals, educational centers, landowners, consumers, and citizens to become cooperative members and actively participate in building a sustainable future for the region.

Geo Fresh Food (GFF) Strawberry Production O&M
The Geo Fresh Food (GFF) Strawberry Production project is an innovative model designed to achieve prolonged seasonality (5-6 months) of strawberry production. The production sites are strategically planned near the GHA KHRWN project station sites and are located on local farmers’ agricultural land plots.
By using well-ventilated and screened tunnel greenhouses at an average altitude of 400 meters, GFF ensures high-quality, high-yield strawberry production at significantly lower investment costs compared to high-tech facilities. This model also lowers production costs while maintaining consistent quality and freshness.
Educational and Vocational Programs
GFF also prioritizes educational and vocational training, utilizing both advanced high-tech production facilities and simple tunnel greenhouses to educate local farmers and cooperative members. The "Strawberry Fields Forever" Demonstration Site at the Chkheri Resort will host various demonstration, training, and popularization activities to build local expertise and enhance production quality.
Cooperation between the Cooperative and KHRWN HORECA Infrastructure Development
The Produce in Imereti Cooperative plays a vital role within the GHA’s KHRWN Umbrella Project, especially in the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe) infrastructure development. GHA collaborates with federal, regional, and local governments, as well as private institutions, DAs, and IFIs, to support community members in developing guesthouses, cafes, and authentic restaurants based on their existing household resources.
GHA supports cooperative members by:
-
Providing technical and technological assistance.
-
Delivering training in hospitality service and customer care.
-
Developing business plans, bookkeeping and legal support.
-
Ensuring compliance with international HORECA standards.
This collaborative approach promotes economic development and social cohesion, while also fostering cultural preservation and the authentic Georgian hospitality experience.
